Since this is I-needed-it-so-I-build-it-ware you can always email me if you have a question / suggestion or found a bug ! The application is basically a port of the functionality I miss when I am on my windows machine and that the GimmeSomeTune application gave me on OSX. You can see intelliTunes as a GimmeSomeTune for Windows. Do let me know if you find a bug, or would like to see a feature added.
With its unique set of features, intelliTunes for windows is the perfect companion for your music collection in iTunes, on your iPod and your iPhone.
Fetch artwork.
No other software we know of lets you fetch artwork for your songs in iTunes for Windows so easily and quickly as intelliTunes.
Just start playing a song - intelliTunes will do the rest. After all, that’s what you have a pc for.
Fetch lyrics.
In the same, easy way intelliTunes fetches artwork, it also fetches lyrics for your songs.
More accurately than any other software we know about.
The info window.
intelliTunes gives you an unobtrusive, non focus stealing, out-of-the-way and beautiful info window that displays the artwork and track info.
The lyrics window.
intelliTunes presents you with your lyrics in a quickly accessible, on-demand window.

How does it work ?
Download the zip file containing the setup.exe here, and install the application.
I would advise to add the application to your windows startup folder. The application will not auto start together with iTunes, so I should be started manually (or through your startup folder).
Doubleclicking the tray icon will start iTunes if it wasn’t running, or play/pause if it was already present. Rightclicking the tray icon will give you the option to change the settings, review trackInfo or view lyrics.

Just updated the intellitunes client again, sorry it was broken for the time being, did not have a lot of time recently.
What changed/was added
- support to process the complete library in one run (right click and select process all files)
- supported new way of artwork fetching for amazons webservice (they changed their rules)
- removed lyricwiki api support and parse them by lyrdb now

Wow, have been waiting for this for so long after leaving mac! It’s fantastic, Though could I suggest some ideas for future updates which were great in gimmesometune? First, hotkeys to show/hide lyrics window And scroll up and down lyrics windows and to control iTunes (as many windows pcs have no keys for play, pause, next, fastforward etc). This is a feature in minilyrics which is great. Also, would it be possible to allow movement of the lyrics window?
But this really is fantastic and I’m very grateful!!

This may be because I’m a total noob, but I cannot figure out how to start this thing… I have installed it fine, but If I start up intelliTunes nothing happens. Please tell me how to get this to work!
did you doubleclick on the icon in the right corner ?

When I found your blog was like wow. Thank you for putting your effort in writing this article.
It seems like some characters don’t work for fetching lyrics. All of the songs I tried with an apostrophe in the title were unable to find lyrics. This might be true of songs with a hyphen as well.

Before, the lyrics would simply be left blank. I’m not sure if you changed anything, but now intelliTunes is dumping a bunch of warnings into the lyrics form. Below are the first few lines. I can post the whole thing or email it to you if that helps.

I’ll investigate it further this week and let you know, the fact that this message gets stuffed in your lyrics is probably due to an error on the lyricdb site, will take a look at what they changed too.

just wondering, when i press process all files does it just get the artwork and lyrics for every song and if so, it only did about 100 of my 800 songs? When I hover over the tray icon it says “Ready Processing all files!” does that means it is slowly getting data for each song

Seems that my comment/question has been removed; so I’ll repost it.
The program doesn’t seem to be working for me on Windows Seven Ultimate 32-bit. It isn’t getting lyrics or album art. I’d really like to know how to get it to work properly. I’ll test it if you make a new version that is supposed to fix this issue.
This is my first visit here, but I will be back soon, because I really like the way you are writing, it is so simple and honest

Sorry have been quite busy lately. WIll create a new version probably by the end of the week to fix the issues with the german characters and such. Will test this version on a windows seven machine to see what is going on.

I don’t think this works with windows 7
Finally found a pc with windows 7 to test it on, worked like a charm.
Do keep in mind that when you start it the first time, the icon will get moved to the unused icons list for some reason, you can choose to adjust this and make it visible at all times, after this change you can just double and right click as in any other windows version.
If problems should pop up, just drop me an email and I will take a look at it.
